The NorthBar Tackle Montauk Darter is a rare commodity - there just aren't many plastic darters in the world. A big benefit of plastic is the consistency - every one is exactly as the builder intended.

Wood naturally varies and this is why wood darters are prone to variation from one to the next with some being better then another. Another benefit is the durability, the lip on many darters fished in rocky areas naturally gets worn down with time while plastic tends to hang in a lot longer. This darter weighs in at 2 ounces.

Excellent Darter

Was excited to see another plastic darter I could add to the arsenal. It comes at a weight of 2oz and I added another .5oz by loading it with some water for a 2.5oz total weight. I feel the 2.5oz alows me better casting distance since I usally fish in bad weather and casting into the wind requires a heavier lure. It swims as a darter should, there are many colors to choose but my standards are to carry one bone and one black. The hardware is excellent in no need of any upgrades.

North Bar Plastic Darters

I have not swam these yet as I live an hour away from the closest salt water. I like plastic darters and these look great and seem well built, I have a variety of North bar plugs and I like them all. I enjoy my orders from Saltwater edge.

Good darter

Classic darter design that catches fish. I loaded it with water to bring it up to 2.5oz to improve casting. Good hardware no upgrade required

Northbar darter

Good not great ! The northbar darters swim great but cast awful, they become great when you load them. There are other plastic darters that are cheaper & cast better out of the box
