The Cotton Cordell Red Fin Swimmer is a really deadly lure for striped bass. It'll work almost anytime of year and can be weighted/loaded for extra casting distance. We also sell them pre-loaded and with upgraded hardware when we have time to whip a batch up. The factory hooks are ok, but we highly recommend an upgrade to 3/0 or even 4/0 VMC 9626PS or similar hooks and some high quality split rings as well. Point Jude replacement tail hooks aren't a bad option either.

a staple to have in any surf bag, especially at its price point.
I’ve always had great results with the fin I load them with 10cc of mineral oil for extra casting distance, great how to video on YouTube. A true spring killer and super deadly around the herring runs
When those first big girls move into the salt ponds and herring runs I throw a loaded blue and chrome and have some fantastic results but I always have a black in my bag
Outproduces other minnow lures I've tried, not sure why. Doesn't cast well and I replace the hooks. Explosive strikes. Not sure I'd fish for stripers without one of these in my bag. I run a single 3/0 VMC 4x treble and a tail flag (Saltwater Edge sells them), load some of them with water up to the hook hanger, sealed with epoxy.
