Brita Fordice is a native of Washington state who began fly fishing at a young age. She learned to fish at 8 and tied her first flies at 10.Her passion for fishing was nurtured during summers spent at her family's house on the Stillaguamish River.
Fordice has built a successful career in the fly fishing industry. She started as a Fly Fishing Guide at The Avid Angler in 2005. In 2016, she joined RIO Products as a Product Developer, where she designs Signature flies for the brand.Her role involves developing, designing, and testing RIO's wide selection of flies, with a particular fondness for squid and baitfish patterns.
She is known for her expertise in tying big baitfish flies and is considered a master West Coast fly tier.
Throughout her career, Fordice has demonstrated a deep commitment to the art and science of fly fishing and fly tying. She is an ambassador to the American Museum of Fly Fishing.
In this class we will be learning a squid pattern and a Puget Sound Flatwing pattern.
Registration for the event is required
Classes will be free if you come by the Saltwater Edge and watch it.
Tickets to watch at home are $10 with all proceeds going to the American Saltwater Guides Association.
