Albie Shootout - Week 3

This week of the Albie Shootout brought plenty of bonito, but not much as far as albies go. Due to the lack of fish and overall poor conditions lately, the tournament will be extended an extra week (final day of fishing will now be Monday, October 21st). There was a decent push of albies here locally around the turn of the month, but it's been more of the same - big, picky fish that are feeding in tight pods on micro bait. They're boat shy, they're leader shy, and they know exactly what they want to eat. That said, they've at least been around here and there, which is a slight improvement on most of last month. While the albies are frustrating many of us, the bonito are quite the opposite. They're plentiful, aggressive, and willing to hit just about whatever you want to throw at them (within reason). Although we've been spoiled by months of hot bonito fishing this year, I'd encourage everyone to stay at it and enjoy it while it lasts. They count just as much as an albie for the tournament!

This week's key word will be "******". If you've been chasing these albies, I'm sure you've heard yourself or others say that once or twice recently. Make sure to have the key word somewhere in the pictures you submit for an entry into the raffle! If you're looking to sign up or find more details on the tournament, you can find them HERE.
