The SaltX Spinning Reel is a new and exciting saltwater workhorse from Tsunami! Featuring a forged and CNC machined A6061 Aluminum body and rotor, fourteen seals including a sealed hammer drag system it can stand up to some salty abuse. A 7 sealed stainless steel ball-bearing system plus one anti-reverse bearing gives you plenty of stopping power.
The reel also includes a manually closing bail as well as a one piece machined handle with round non-slip power knob.
Retrieve is easily reversible from left to right using the provided wrench.

Great reel so far...spends most of its time underwater as I swim from rock to rock. Time will tell how well it holds up but so far no complaints! Awesome experience dealing with Peter & team!
I’ve had the 6000 and it’s been a reliable work horse for me in the surf. Purchased the 4000 because of this for light back bay use and had issues within a week of like use. Will not recommend any product with a high end price tag that has poor quality control. Staff at Saltwaters Edge more than helpful and will be taking my business there in the future.
Easily out performs a van staal and for the price it's a great bargain.
Great reel. I picked it up as I mostly surf fish the RI coast. With that comes a lot of dunking and rough wear and tear, etc. So far the reel has lived up to its promise and I have not had any issues. This is not as free spinning/smooth as standard spinning reels. This has to do with the fully sealed function of the reel according to what I have found. However, upon opening up the reel and I noticed it is absolutely PACKED to the gills with grease. If you go in and take out some of the grease it will run a lot smoother. Do this is “at your own risk” of course but in my experience so far is hasn’t compromised the water proof seal quality of the reel. I recommend this reel very highly to any one who is hitting the surf/rocks and can’t spend the money on a VS. I’d give it 5 stars but the extra insane amount of grease in there forces me to go 4.
