Built with a new formulation of a SCII carbon material blank, the St. Croix Seage Surf Rods are built to perform for the surfcaster. The SCII Carbon material is a premium material that is both light and sensitive, aiding in its flexural strength while reducing its weight at the same time.
St. Croix's ART (Advanced Reinforcing Technology) was also added, an exotic carbon fiber material that adds a significant amount of hoop strength to the rod. The hoop strength keeps the rod from ovalizing, keeping the power of the blank ready for the angler to send lures out to far distance busting fish and for the retrieve of the next monster.
St. Croix also implemented a new technology known as "Veil" which suits itself perfectly to be launched in a new surfcasting rod. The "Veil" technology is a "tri-blend of carbon fiber, fiberglass and explicit resin" that is designed to reduce the effects of impact and blank integrity. Impacts, while not ideal on any fishing rod, happen to every angler, especially surf anglers, whether it be from bumps in the car, lure knocks when casting/retrieving, or even when using your surf rod as a wading staff to get to the next rock. With the technology put into this rod, its one that pushes the limits for a lightweight and sensitive rod, built to be a joy to use but maintain a durable and long-lasting rod for years to come.

I own 3 in this series and have been thoroughly impressed, they are strong and sensitive plus the warranty is excellent. I have used them as walking sticks through the surf and the butt help up great. Also the casting distance was impressive, I have them paired with the Saragossa 6000s and other than looking great they balance perfectly.
This rod is perfect for the o lures I use very sensitive and enough backbone to handle larger fish and still soft enough for smaller schoolies
a lot of fun to fish with. very lite rod with lots of power caught some nice stripers on it. but first fish was a cow nose ray lol, cant wait to catch some big bluefish on it come spring. good job st. croix!
Based on amazing previous customer service/warranty/repair services in years prior with broken rods, I decided to pick up a 2nd Seage. This has been a great rod so far and I plan to fish it heavily next year.
