The Shimano Torium Star Drag Conventional Reelsare a reliable compact conventional reel, perfect for doing pretty much everything like trolling, bottom fishing, casting, and more. Shimano uses their S-Compact Body to make the reel feel like a size smaller by making the B-Sideplate all one piece and slimmer than the A-Sideplate. The A-Sideplate houses the handle, drag adjustment, cast control knob, and Shimano's HEG Gearing. Shimano's HEG Gearing, which is a much bigger drive gear and pinion gear for added power and strength, allows this reel to handle some serious fish.
Torium 14: Specifically made at the request of NE bottom fisherman who target fluke and seabass. Light and compact enough to easily palm but has the capacity to hold a good amount of line when they're in the depths.
Torium 16: Great for the angler targeting larger game such as stripers, blues, and other fish and makes for a great Nantucket Shoals fluke reel for the NE fisherman.
