High speed, compact, and powerful, the Shimano Talica Lever Drag Reels are built to conquer some of the meanest fish out there, whether it be pelagics, grouper or others. The Talica can be used in a variety of different ways, whether it be live bait, chunk bait, light trolling or other means. These reels were truly designed to utilize PowerPro or other braided lines with short top shots, which gives this reel the capability of taking on monsters with plenty of line capacity.
Shimano incorporated their Hagane Body in this reel, an all-metal reel body that keeps the rigidity and eliminates any flex. Without flex, cranking power and efficiency are pushed to the limits for every direct action the angler takes. Shimano's High-Efficiency Gearing was also added to the reel, which gives the reel its power and ability to use heavy braided lines. They increased the size of the pinion and drive gear with this reel, increasing its leverage and power.
