Such a great rod with an affordable price. I got the medium heavy and will be using this for sturgeon fishing from the bank, plenty of backbone with this rod. Can’t say enough about The Saltwater Edge their service is beyond outstanding!
You can't beat the quality of this rod for the buck, however, 1/2-3 oz, it is not. I bought it (the curbside service at Saltwater Edge was rediculously awesome) to throw 1/2 oz. cocahoes, but after one cast i knew it was too stiff. A rod that is too stiff for what you are throwing will tire your shoulder out, and after a few days of fishing, my shoulder was shot. It throws an SP Minnow and heavier great. I might even rate this 1-3 1/2 oz., just like my 10'6" Tiralejo.
