Patagonia River Salt Wading Boots II

Cordura uppers. Vibram Megagrip soles. Saltwater and freshwater ready.

The Patagonia River Salt Wading Boots II are built for anglers who fish both salt and fresh. Abrasion-resistant Cordura nylon mesh uppers dry quickly while standing up to sharp rocks, coral, oysters, and hard daily use. A high-collar design and supportive upper improve ankle stability, the adjustable ankle strap keeps sand and debris out, and Vibram Megagrip nonmarking soles deliver real traction on slick rocks, wet boat decks, and jetty boulder. Anticorrosive hardware throughout means you can fish them all season in saltwater without rust eating the laces or hooks.

Care & Use

  • Rinse with fresh water after every saltwater use — even with anticorrosive hardware, salt accelerates wear
  • Loosen the toggle and pull the tongue forward to drain and dry inside the boot
  • Add Patagonia or aftermarket studs if you fish primarily rocky bottoms
  • Pair with stockingfoot waders — not designed as a boot-foot system

Why We Like It

Wading boots that can actually do salt and fresh are rare, and the River Salt II is one of the few that holds up to both without compromise. Megagrip soles are the standard for slick-rock traction, the Cordura uppers dry overnight in the back of a truck, and the anticorrosive hardware actually works — we've seen these boots come back season after season from anglers who pound them on jetties and flats. Built in Italy to a build quality that justifies the price.
