Anyone who has fought a sabiki rig back through the guides knows the problem this rod solves. The Cortez Sabiki uses a through-blank design — the rig retracts fully inside the rod, so a string of small hooks never snags a guide, a rail, or your hand.
Line threads in through an opening just above the handle and out to the reel. The tip is shaped so the rig and its hooks slide in without catching. Load bait fast, stow it clean, and get back to fishing.
