Built to lift. Built to last. Tuned for the canyon.
The MagicTail Offshore Stand-Up Series is a short, high-leverage rod built for the Northeast canyons and offshore grounds. At 5'9" it gives you the angle to put real pressure on a deep fish from a belt and harness without fighting the rod itself. Two power classes cover the whole spread — 30-60 lb for tuna, mahi, and wahoo, and 60-100 lb when you're pulling on giant bluefin or sharks. Roller and Fuji-guide configurations let you spec the rod to your line, your reel, and your budget.

Q: What's the difference between the guide options?
A: The full Winthrop roller runs rollers from stripper to tip — the least friction for trolling heavy mono and wind-ons. The hybrid pairs a roller stripper and roller tip with ring guides between, a lighter and lower-cost build that still protects line at the two highest-wear points. The full Fuji build uses ring guides with a roller tip, best for braid-to-leader jigging and chunking.
Q: 30-60 or 60-100 — which do I want?
A: The 30-60 lb covers most Northeast tuna, mahi, and wahoo on the troll or the chunk. Go 60-100 lb if you're specifically after giant bluefin or sharks, or fishing heavy stand-up drag.
Q: Is this a trolling rod or a stand-up rod?
A: Both. The 5'9" length and power make it a true stand-up rod you can also set in the spread — fight it from a belt and harness.
This is the kind of short, no-nonsense stand-up stick that earns its spot in the rocket launcher when the canyon bite turns on. The roller options are the real story — if you're trolling wind-ons or locked up with a fish that won't quit, rollers keep your line cool and your knots intact in a way ring guides can't. For a Northeast crew chasing tuna and the occasional shark, the 5'9" 30-60 covers the most water; add the 60-100 when you're going after giants.
