MagicTail Mojo Trolling Lures

1 review
Lure Weight: 2 oz
Color: Chartreuse

Magic Tail Mojo Rigs utilize a ball jig with a durable swim shad and skirt with two Mustad hooks rigged inline. They are available in 8, 16, 20 and 24 oz in white and chartreuse.

Some versions of the Mojo Rig has been used on the Chesapeake Bay for striped bass for years. It is popular because it allows the angler to present a large profile bait deep without using wireline. Over the past few seasons interest in Mojo's has spread up the coast. These Rigs are incredibly effective, especially for larger bass. The Mojo can be trolled by itself or in tandem with a lighter trailing Parachute stinger.

To troll a Mojo by itself, send it to the bottom and either crank it up a foot or two. Troll at 2 to 3 knots when targeting stripers. Most anglers rig using 60-80 lb fluorocarbon for the abrasion resistance.

A tandem rig is probably the most popular and effective way to fish a Mojo in New England. To make a tandem mojo rig, start with a heavy mojo in the 16 - 24 ounce range. Tie it to a 3-way swivel with 3 feet of 60- to 80-pound fluorocarbon. This mojo will get the tandem rig down to the bottom and keep it in the strike zone. Then, take a lighter Mojo in the 2- 8 ounce range, and attach it to the 3-way swivel via 4-5 feet of 60- to 80-pound fluorocarbon. Troll speed remains the same.
