The Typhoon's sport a short, thick jaw designed so that it will not deflect when removing a larger 4 or 5/0 hook. Jaw deflection is the most common shortcoming of aluminum pliers in general. They are made of 6061-T6 aircraft quality anodized, salt-water resistant aluminum that is fully machined, not die-cast. Also featured are non-slip rubber grips and a self-opening spring. The side cutters are going to work on all monofilament, new age braid and synthetic lines plus coated wire up to 60-pound. The other benefit of aluminum is weight and these babies are only 4.5 oz!
