The new Daiwa Saltiga Spinning Reels feature all the latest and greatest technology Daiwa has to offer for 2020. The biggest technological improvement is its Monocoque body, a total redesign compared to the previous generation, which can be seen in Daiwa Certate LT and Exist LT Spinning reels. This Monocoque body is a one piece design, which means that the body has more strength and rigidity and also requires less screws and pins for assembly. With less screws and pins, the reel inherently has less entry points for water/debris ato enter and it also allows for a larger drive gear. The new drive gear is 12% larger in diameter than previous Saltiga versions and is constructed of Daiwa's G1 Duralumin. This drive gear is also thicker in width, allowing for the reduction of twist and deformations on its internal parts, such as the drive and pinion gears.
The Saltiga series of spinning reels if well known for their ability to subdue and conquer pelagic fish across the world. With 55-66lbs of max drag depending on the model size, this reel can put a stop to everything from GT's and Tuna to Stripers, Tarpon, and Roosterfish. An aluminum rotor as well as 13 ball bearings keep this reel performing liquid smooth even under intense loads, allowing the angler to put more power to fish that demand it.
Features:
The larger diameter drive gear. Increasing the diameter by 12% and also increasing thickness reduces the amount of wear, including twist and deformation to both the drive & pinion gears. In comparison to 15 Saltiga, it is more than double the strength. New gear design combined with MQ body makes 20 Saltiga the pinnacle of saltwater spinning reels.
Delivers improved cooling & heat dissipation compared to 15 Saltiga thanks to its aluminium construction and increased size.
MQ Body takes reel design to the next level. The MQ system does not require conventional side plate, instead using an engine plate to screw directly to the body. Eliminating the need for screws to hold a body cover in place. MQ body improves the strength of the reel, it also improves the water-resistance of the body and allows a larger diameter drive gear to be installed.
More than twice as rigid. The newly designed aluminium air rotor is more than double the rigidity compared to 15 Saltiga. It is also 50% more durable than the famous original Z series Saltiga of 2002.
Drag durability more than 10 times that of 15 Saltiga. In comparison to 15 Saltiga drag washers it is more than 10 times more durable with significantly increased drag longevity. Adding drag washers means the workload is spread evenly across the drag stack. By designing the drag with smaller washers, the maximum pressure per washer is decreased, but by adding more washers increased pressure is created.
