Through the combination of developments from both the 2019 Certate LT and the 2020 Saltiga, the Daiwa Certate SW G Spinning Reeltook the best parts from both to make an impressive option for the inshore/offshore fisherman.
The Certate SW utilizes a one-piece Monocoque (MQ) body which allows for bigger gearing and greater sealing. This reel features the same G1 Duralumin drive gear as the 2020 Saltiga, which gives it all the strength and power to take down beasts in a lightweight package. Its one-piece body design eliminates numerous entry ports for water, whether it be screw holes, pins, or side plates.
Perhaps the most interesting feature is Daiwa's Advanced Tournament Drag (ATD) which applies an increased instantaneous and calculated resistance during the hooks. After the hook is driven home and the fish starts pulling, the ATD automatically returns to the selected drag setting.
The Certate SW was given a ZAION rotor design, which gives the reels lightweight and responsive feel with every crank of the handle. The reel also features a multi-layer carbon drag, delivering increased drag durability by 10 times the normal level. An aluminum radiation drag knob works to disipate heat, ideal for those unruly pelagics to keep the drag as smooth as possible.
