The VSX2 implements a new unibody design, meaning that this reel utilizes a fully machined one-piece body and stem. Overall strength & rigidity of the reel is enhanced with this design, while also increasing its sealing from adverse environments. A longer handle, power knob, and enhanced drag knob come stock with this reel, giving the angler the ultimate experience on the water from the start. Its oversized clutch was moved over to the pinion side, providing the angler with greater responsiveness with every handle turn.
