When the albies roll in it's often about the time the weather starts to shift and it isn't uncommon to have to deal with the wind when chasing them. These jigs are the best for fat Alberto s when surfcasting. They have the weight to get them out and the durability to hit a few rocks on the jetty, better shore based choice than the epoxy jig. Standard hardware holds up well.
Only thing better then the Hogy Epoxy Jig is the Hogy Heavy Minnow. I rarely throw a standard Epoxy jig anymore as the distance advantage plus the fact the Heavy stays in the water better just make it fish better almost all the time compared to the Epoxy Jig.
