Temple Fork Surf Rods are lightweight and powerful thanks to modern carbon fiber technology, but their price won't break the bank.
The 1065 is probably the choice for all-around NorthEast surfcasting from plugs to eels. Might be a little heavy for the lightest plugs and a little light for the very biggest but otherwise you'll almost always have the right stick in hand. The 1106 has become very popular at the Cape Cod Canal and is optimized for throwing bigger plugs and bucktails. It's VERY powerful and as a result doesn't work so well with smaller lures or eels. The 1103 is a favorite of anglers who love to throw SP Minnows, Redfins, Sluggos, live eels, and other lures in the 1/2 to 2 ounce range. The 902 is another great all-around rod, perfect for building a compact but powerful surf outfit. And to finish it off, the 804 is a great option for back bay use and targeting one of the North East's favorite fish, Albies.
Rubber X-Grip helps you keep a firm hold even in cold conditions or with fish slime on your hands. Fuji K-Frame Alconite guides are perfect for modern braided lines and saltwater. They also help keep the overall weight of these rods nice and low for all-day or night fishing adventures.
TFO Tactical Surf Rods are considered "Magnum action" - which TFO calls fast and stiff. They feature a 70/30 ferrule split for all two-piece models.
All TFO products have a no-fault lifetime warranty for the life of the registered owner. This warranty is exclusively between TFO and the registered owner of the product.

Great rod for the money with an excellent warranty. I had to deal with tfo customer service and it was excellent. Rod casts incredible and is good build quality. I would recommend it to a friend. Only draw back is it that it isn t as great of a pencil popper rod as I would have liked but it gets it done.
One of the best rod I bought, caught so many fish with it . Tog , striper
I live on long island New York and fish Montauk often. along with the waters around Shinnecock on eastern long island. the price point is perfect compared to some other the brands, st croix, lamiglass, odm. the performance, durability and the quality of these rods is excellent. I own 3 of these rods, GIS SCS 902-2 9ft mag L, GIS SCS1106-2 11ft mag H , GIS SCS1106-2 11ft Mag L. it's hard to decide which one to use at times. The guide on the tip I haven't had to replace it on any of the rods yet they are in there 3rd season of heavy surf fishing mostly at night and if you fish at night and use a barrel swivel sometimes they get stuck in the top guide. if you want quality and durability consider the TFO GIS series
I own 2 GIS surf rods and will continue to buy TFO throughout my fishing career! These are highly overlooked rods because they don't have a household name like ODM, Lamiglass, St. Croix or G. Loomis! These rods are built incredibly well and have great Fuji components! TFO also has a great customer service policy. I would 100% buy again, and would 100% recommend to a friend!
