247 Lures 7" Needlefish

Slow-sinking wood needle. Hand-built. VMC 9626 trebles.

The 24-7 Lures 7" Needlefish is a slow-sinking wooden needlefish designed for the shallow boulder fields and beaches where standard needles dive into structure too fast. The slow-sink rate keeps the lure in the strike zone longer, which is exactly what you want when fish are sitting in 3-5 feet of water and you need to swim past them at depth. The occasional twitch flashes the underbelly, and the needle profile matches the slim baitfish stripers key on in cold spring water and late summer sand-eel runs. 7" length, 1.75 oz weight, factory-equipped with 2/0 VMC 9626 trebles — the same trebles serious plug rebuilders pay extra to install. Hand-built by 24-7 Lures.

Why We Like It

Slow-sinking needles solve a specific problem: when fish are in shallow water (3-5 feet) and you need to swim a needle past them without diving into structure or fouling on bottom. The 24-7 lure is one of the best hand-built slow-sink needles available, and the VMC 9626 trebles included from the factory are the same trebles serious surfcasters pay extra to install on production plugs. At $27 hand-built with premium hooks, the value math works. Cinnaburst, Squibby Eel, and Copperpot are the colors that go first in our shop.
