The NorthBar Tackle Montauk Darter lures are known to be a rare commodity because there just simply is not a large plastic darters supply in the world. The biggest benefit of plastic is the consistency. Wood naturally varies and this is why wood darters are prone to variation from one to the next with some being better than another.
Another benefit is the durability, the lip on many darters fished in rocky areas naturally gets worn down with time while plastic tends to hang in a lot longer. This darter weighs in at 2 ounces and is great for striped bass and has a great motion in the water that will attract fish in no time!

Great action...doesn't cast the best though.
The Northbar darter seems to have more action in waters with less current than a super strike. I reach for these when the tide is slack. The work well in faster current and swim down to around 6 to 8 feet depending on conditions.
Was excited to see another plastic darter I could add to the arsenal. It comes at a weight of 2oz and I added another .5oz by loading it with some water for a 2.5oz total weight. I feel the 2.5oz alows me better casting distance since I usally fish in bad weather and casting into the wind requires a heavier lure. It swims as a darter should, there are many colors to choose but my standards are to carry one bone and one black. The hardware is excellent in no need of any upgrades.
I have not swam these yet as I live an hour away from the closest salt water. I like plastic darters and these look great and seem well built, I have a variety of North bar plugs and I like them all. I enjoy my orders from Saltwater edge.
