Jigging World Ghost Hunter Jigging Series

24T Japanese carbon. Speed jigging spec. The Cape Cod tuna rod.

The Jigging World Ghost Hunter is the speed jigging rod that's earned its reputation as the top choice for anglers targeting Giant Bluefin Tuna out of Cape Cod. Built on 24T Japanese carbon fiber, the blank delivers the strength to land fish up to 500 lb while staying light enough in hand to jig all day. Four models cover 350g and 450g jigs in both spinning and conventional — with the conventional models featuring spiral-wrapped guides for reduced line twist on hard-pulling tuna fights. Premium FUJI reel seats (DPS spinning, PLS conventional), FUJI BCKWAG guides, and high-density EVA grips for the long fights.

Rigging & Use

  • 350g models: mid-depth bluefin tuna, big amberjack — 8000-class reel
  • 450g models: deep water, trophy bluefin (200-500 lb), heavy structure jigging — 10000+ class or heavy conventional
  • Spool 65-100 lb braid with a 100-130 lb fluoro top shot
  • The shorter blank length (5'3"-5'6") is the speed jigging spec — more leverage, less arm fatigue
  • Spiral-wrapped conventional guides matter when you're fighting fish that put 50+ lb of pressure on the rod for hours

Why We Like It

The Ghost Hunter has a serious cult following with Cape Cod tuna fishermen — the rod has been on the deck for some of the biggest bluefin landed in New England waters over the past few seasons. Jigging World tunes this blank specifically for speed jigging the heavier jigs that work for school and giant bluefin, and the 24T carbon stays strong fight after fight. The S450 spinning is the rod the most serious tuna jiggers we know use.
