Star Rods VPR Inshore Spinning Rods are formed with high modulus multi-directional graphite with a new nano-resin to reduce weight and increase strength. You'll notice the result the moment you pick one up, they're noticeably light while still providing enough backbone to bring in the biggest inshore behemoths.
Outfitted with premium components including Fuji KL-H guides with SIC rings, Fuji blank-touch reel seats, and cork split grip handles for a secure and comfy grip.

I purchased the Star VPR 7'6" Medium-Fast rod because I have a number of older Star rods and have always liked the way they felt and handled fish. The main thing I really liked about my Star rods is they were all Made in USA! I thought for the price of this rod that it too would be made in America. While the rod feels well made, is very light, has plenty of backbone (biggest fish so far is a 32" redfish), and casts light jig heads effortlessly, it was Made in China. I'd have rated it easily Five Stars if it had been Made inUSA! Had I done my research and called Saltwater Edge I am sure they would have told me so it is my fault for assuming a high-end Star rod would be Made in USA. I would have much preferred a USA-Made St. Croix, Cashion, Cajun or G. Loomis even if I had to pay a little more. I wish all rod manufacturers and their distributors would let people shopping online where a rod is built. I am going to recommend this product but only if you want a rod made in China!
I originally bought a Loomis GCX medium. When I got the rod in the mail, it was way lighter than the rating. Felt like a medium lite. Anyways, Saltwater edge was great about the exchange process. They provided a shipping label and promptly exchanged it for the Star VPR 7’6 medium fast Wow. What a rod. Every aspect of the rod is amazing. You can really tell that all of the components are high quality and will last a long time. It is incredibly light and sensitive, and has a solid backbone. It’s the most comfortable rod I’ve ever fished with. Paired with a Vanford 3000.
