The saltwater edge had the new owner 4X in-line hooks in stock and I desperately needed some of the larger sizes for upgrading the hooks on my wahoo lures. I had hoped the larger sizes would finally end my search for a bigger stronger inline replacement hook. But it didn’t. Unfortunately these hooks run very small for the stated size. The largest one they make is an 11/0 and it’s not any bigger than most other 9/0’s.... including their own 3X single replacement hook. The search for a better 11/0 & 12/0 & 13/0 single in-line replacement hooks will continue....
Saltwater Edge is a great tackle store and the Owner Zo-wire 4X inline hooks were just what I was looking for. The hooks are super sharp and look to be able to handle some nasty fish. As other have mentioned, the size of these hooks are much smaller than other quality inline hooks. For example, I bought the 7/0 Owner Zo-wire inline hooks and they are VERY close in size to the BKK 4/0 Lone Diablo hooks. However, when comparing the 7/0 Owner Zo-wire to the 4/0 BKK , the Owner hook wire is about 15% to 20% heavier than the BKK wire.
This is a BURLY hook that is way overkill for my uses inshore in New England.
