Designed from the bottom up specifically for tying bucktail jigs and larger saltwater flies. The main complaint with current fly vises is the inability to hold the large and/or heavy hooks required to tie jigs and the cost associated with a high-quality vise. We tried to address both of these concerns and partnered with Peak Engineering.
The Saltwater Edge Vise starts with a large, super stable steel base with non-marking feet that supports a sturdy stainless steel shaft.
The jaws are hardened and tempered tool steel that securely hold hooks, from size 4 to a 9/0 (Mustad). The rotary feature makes it easy to distribute collars evenly and increases efficiency. The fit and finish is excellent including the off white, low gloss base to reduce eye fatigue.
