The Northeast surf rod standard. Moderate action. Decades-proven graphite blank.
The Lamiglas GSB has been the premier surf rod for serious Northeast surfcasters for decades — durable, reliable, virtually unbreakable, and often handed down through generations. The moderate action is what makes the GSB legendary: it casts a wide range of weights (bucktail jigs, big plastics, rigged eels, eelskin swimmers) with the same blank, and the forgiving taper tires out big fish quickly while letting you cast for hours from the rocks without wearing out your arm. The current iteration updates the GSB with modern components while keeping the classic high-performance blank that's required almost no change over the years.
| GSB81MS | 8'1" Medium Spinning — jetty work, lighter surf |
| GSB91LS / GSB92LS | 9' Light Spinning — bucktails, smaller plugs, light surf |
| GLB961M | 9'6" Medium Blank — the do-it-all blank, in-store pickup only |
| GSB1201L / GSB1201M | 12' Light / Medium — distance work, heavier plugs |
| GSB1321M | 13'2" Medium — max-reach beach work |
The GSB has held its position as the gold standard of Northeast surf rods for a reason. The moderate action does what most "modern" fast-action rods can't — it handles eels and metal-lips properly, doesn't kill swimmer action with too-stiff tip, and forgives bad casts. We sell these rods to anglers who've fished GSBs for 20+ years and want a new one, to custom rod builders who want the blank, and to surfcasters who've finally graduated past production rods and want the real thing.
