Graphene + S-2 Glass + Textreme. Anti-Twist Technology. The flagship local-built inshore rod.
Century's "Weapon" series is the flagship inshore rod — a blank packed with materials and technologies that even most $800+ rods don't include. Anti-Twist Technology (ATT) uses a complex layup that gives the rod near-"steel I-beam" torsional properties — no side-to-side deflection, all energy in a single plane. The autoclave curing process produces a completely void-free composite. Graphene reinforcement (200 times stronger than steel, harder than diamond, while staying flexible) is woven throughout the blank. S-2 Glass nanofiber resin adds high-end fiberglass properties to the mix, and a Textreme outer shell (used in aerospace and racing) adds fracture resistance and recovery speed. Built one rod at a time by Aquidneck Island Rod Builders in Newport, RI.

Century's "Weapon" series brings together more high-end blank technologies than almost any production rod we carry. The combination of Anti-Twist Technology + Graphene + S-2 Glass + Textreme is unusual at any price — you'd expect to see this on $1000+ rods. The AIRB build (Aquidneck Island Rod Builders, right down the street from the shop) means the components match the blank: every wrap, every guide, every cork section done by hand. At $655-$705, this is a serious investment, but the kind of rod a serious surfcaster fishes for 20+ years.
