Century Pro Togger

Extra-fast taper. Graphene-reinforced blank. Built for jigging tog from boats and structure.

The Century Pro Togger is the rod tog fishermen reach for when bite detection and lifting power both matter. Century's autoclave process produces a resin-lean composite blank that doesn't go soft in cold weather and holds its deflection curve season after season. The Graphene reinforcement makes it noticeably lighter in hand than equivalent blanks at this length, and the extra-fast tip gives you the bite detection to feel a fish mouth a green crab on the drop while leaving the backbone to pull big tog up out of structure before they wrap you.

Key Features

  • Extra-fast action with sensitive tip for bite detection
  • Powerful backbone to pull tog off bottom structure quickly
  • Wide weight and lure rating for varying current and depth
  • Graphene reinforcement — lighter than equivalent rods at this length
  • Resin-lean autoclave blank construction — holds curve in cold weather and over years of use
  • Built locally by Aquidneck Island Rod Builders

Rigging & Use

  • Pair with a 4000-class spinning reel loaded with 30-40 lb braid
  • Run a 30-50 lb fluorocarbon leader to your tog jig
  • Drop straight down on structure; lift the jig slowly off bottom and let it rest
  • Set hard on the first tap — tog spit jigs faster than you can blink
  • Use the backbone to pull fish away from structure immediately; don't let them turn down into rocks

Why We Like It

Built by Aquidneck Island Rod Builders right down the road from the shop, the Pro Togger is the local tog rod we point serious blackfish guys toward. The autoclave-cured blank is what makes it — resin-lean composite that stays consistent across cold winter tog trips and doesn't get a "soft spot" the way some blanks do after a few seasons. The Graphene treatment makes it light enough to fish all day without the wrist fatigue you get from jigging a heavier rod.
