Another impressive plier from Danco, these aluminum pliers are coated in an anodized layer and rubberized paint for corrosion resistance and grip. Stainless steel replaceable jaws and tungsten carbide cutters make them ultra-tough and modular. Complete with a 36" long coiled lanyard and durable sheath, these pliers should be on your boat or surf bag this season!

These pliers are very nice, the line cutters handle braid well. The pliers have a nice rubberized finish which makes them easier to grip when wet. The biggest downside is that the included sheath has a belt clip rather than a loop, it seems like a small thing but it's really really annoying. I've taken these out on six trips so far and each time you pull the pliers out of the sheath, the rubberized coating on the pliers causes them to "stick" to the sheath, the sheath can then come unhooked from your belt and you risk losing your pliers because they are tethered to a sheath that is no longer tethered to you.
So I bought a pair of these pliers from SWE early last year. I usually surf fish or fish from a boat at least twice a week and they preformed flawlessly all season. I did notice a little bit of oxidation where the dissimilar metals meet but no change in performance. I lost that pair at the beginning of this season and was impressed enough I bought another pair This time I went with orange. I have worn away the rubberized coating on the outside in a small spot and noticed that the actual metal is anodized orange, a small detail that I appreciate. The action is not as tight or as smooth as the Danco titanium pliers (as to be expected) but I would argue that you will not find a better pair of pliers for the money.
Well built, great cutters, holster sucks and is uncomfortable but the pliers theirselves are great.
Pliers are awesome especially for the price. I’m sure I’ll have them a long time. Sheath keeps popping off everything I clip it to so the pliers and sheath all come out together when I go to grab them with is less than ideal…I’m going to fasten the sheath to my surf bag as a permanent set for that bag.
