Point Jude Po-Jee Tins

Lure Weight: 1 1/2 oz

Point Jude Po-Jee Tins

Local-made RI tin. Matches the hatch on small bait. Won't blow out at speed.

The Point Jude Po-Jee is a thin-profile tin built for the times when small baitfish — silversides, sand eels, anchovies, bay anchovies — are the only thing fish are eating. The weighted keel in the tail makes the Po-Jee ride at an angle when retrieved, which means it stays in the water at speed instead of skipping out the way flat-sided tins often do when you burn them on busting fish.

Key Features

  • Thin profile matches the hatch when small baitfish are present
  • Weighted keel makes the lure ride at an angle through the retrieve
  • Stays in the water at high retrieve speeds — no surface skipping
  • Effective on striped bass, bluefish, sea bass, false albacore, and bonito
  • Made by Point Jude Lures — a Rhode Island local brand
  • Available in 1.5 oz and 2.5 oz sizes

Rigging & Use

  • Burn them through a blitz with a fast, steady retrieve — the keel keeps them swimming
  • Lift-and-fall jigging works for sea bass and stripers on structure
  • 1.5 oz is the shop's favorite for funny fish (albies, bonito) — casts great, rides true
  • Match size to the bait — 1.5 oz for true silversides and sand eels, 2.5 oz when bait is larger or wind is up

Why We Like It

The 1.5 oz Po-Jee is our favorite tin for funny fish — casts great and rides at an angle that keeps it from skipping out when you have to burn it through a feeding pod of albies or bonito. Point Jude is a local Rhode Island brand, and the Po-Jee design is one of those quiet bits of engineering that makes a real difference on the water. The thin profile genuinely matches the hatch.
