This is Capt. Ray's version of a small squid fly which I found, when stripers are so picky, this fly, which I tied according to his pattern but in cotton candy pink, was dynamic in Chatham, MA, at the Refuge in June, a couple of years ago. Conditions were rainy, big time wind, no one was catching. I looked through my fly patch and saw Ray's Squidsicle, pink, tied it on and wham, all the flyfishers around me saw a nice striper come up after we had all been so disappointed. Funny? Next to me was a flyfisherman, from NJ, who asked to see the fly. When he saw it, he said that he had tied the same pattern and he removed it from his bag, tied it on and then, yup, he was on! Unfortunately he and I + my fishing buddy were the only ones with this pattern and, so, it made our day. Five stars for this pattern, Capt. Ray!
