A Bonito Bunny with a cone-head to increase the jigging action as you retrieve it through the water and get down faster than an unweighted version. Tied on a strong Ahrex SA210 hook.
I use these a bunch when the bait is really small and the fish won't touch normal lures. Mostly I rig them on 18"-48" light fluorocarbon leader trailing a heavy epoxy jig with the treble removed. I like it better than using a casting egg. The bass, bonito, bullet mackerel, and albies love this fly!!
When you lose 2 of these to fish then I guess its time to restock. I basically use it as a teaser and because its weighted it swims very well in front of the heavier lure.
