At 5'9" it gives you the angle to put real pressure on a deep fish from a belt and harness without fighting the rod itself. Two power classes cover the whole spread — 30-60 lb for tuna, mahi, and wahoo, and 60-100 lb when you're pulling on giant bluefin or sharks.
