The flexible legs allow you to create different crab fly styles, whether you need them anchored on the bottom, floating, or slow-sinking. This design can be tied on various hook lengths—simply cut the connecting strip to split the legs, then tie in two halves to suit your hook, or use just the trailing legs or claws as desired.

Built to accommodate different carapaces and weight setups, the Split Crab has gone through six iterations to achieve a perfectly balanced design. When using the full set of legs, this balance ensures consistent drag during both descent and retrieval, giving you the control needed for those crucial moments.

Given the flexibility of this product, we do not provide specific hook size or model recommendations. However, for optimal performance, make sure your final assembly leverages the leg drag to maintain the fly's natural position in the water.
