These long saddle feathers are excellent for flatwing style flies and squid patterns. These feathers are bred to have flexible stems, a nice taper, and more web than you would find in similarly shaped dry fly hackles. The webby nature of the feather helps them hold their shape in water and creates that classic flatwing movement. A must-have for every saltwater fly tier.
